Our goal is to go beyond repairing vehicles. We want to eliminate the inconveniences associated with an accident. We are willing to help our customers process their claims, offer transportation, and keep our customer informed of the repair process. We work hard to provide our customers exceptional service and quality repairs.



Our Team

When the new facility opened in March 1998, Schmitz Body Paint and Repair had one full time employee and one part-time employee in the office. At the present time, we have one full-time employee in the office, one full time employee in the detail center, and three part-time/summer help employees in the shop.



Our Location

We selected our location to build a repair facility and it is on Main Street near a busy intersection. The hours of business are from 8-5 Monday – Friday. Parking is available on the street side of the building, as well as a paved parking lot on the west side of the building.

Our Story

Schmitz Body, Paint and Repair was established in 1980 when Tom Schmitz began an auto body repair center in his family’s Ford dealership in Perham, M. With the growth of the business and changing industry and customer service needs, a new facility was built in 1998. Tom’s wife Nancy joined the business in 2001 as front office support, especially working with customers to help with the processing of their insurance claims.

Tom was born and raised in Perham, graduating from Perham High School and St. Cloud Vocational College for auto repair. Tom and Nancy have three adult children, with one son working in the business. They consider to be blessed to have a business in a growing community and to be located in a region in Minnesota full of lakes and woods; providing a family-oriented environment.

Schmitz Body Paint & Repair is state of the art facility with a down draft paint-bake booth, laser frame alignment system, a paint mixing system, and computer estimating. Courtesy vehicles are also offered for customer convenience.
